Admit it, as we say in Filipino aminin we’re all dead on the 1st of January. Most of us don’t get up til noon and when we do we start making our food we first sit in the dining with a cuppa staring into nothing as in Tulaley.
On New Years day we eat all the leftovers, either we microwave the leftovers or go to another friends house to eat some chose to eat out to restaurant but that is if there are open restaurants.
Why am I telling you this? what is because this is my story. My friends celebrated new years eve with us at our house and we stayed up the whole night as we Filipinos usually do and yes when they woke up they were tulaley.
Check out our sort of “fancy” decoration. We used some balloons which we prepared for Lyra’s birthday party on the 6th and used some of the little knick knacks from our old Christmas decor. Voila! this is the result. Despite the cold weather and yes terribly windy too nonetheless, the leftovers after all was tastier than ever.

Wow! The ulam looks masarap! Happy 2024!
