Embracing The Madness With Crazy Friends

“In the end, you always go back to the people that were there in the beginning.” “Sometimes, even when you’re having a good time, you can’t help but stop and think about how much you enjoy the time with your friends.”

The night was cold and weary, I was a bit reluctant as I was already under the weather to begin with. As I was about to park, I saw men in their best black suits, with shiny and slightly pointy shoes, whilst women wore their fancy formal dresses. Approaching the main door I got a little worried because the mood was a bit down and I did not see anybody wearing 80’s costume. And so I thought, are we at the right place? Maybe it’s just us wearing this costume. We’d be out of place!

It was quite a while before I finally saw a few bits and pieces of 80s accessories on people coming in. We hung out at the lobby tinkering with our dresses and accessories and then finally I saw some people wearing 80’s costume arriving. Though I did not wear my costume until later, per my friend’s suggestion since it was my birthday, she said I should wear my gown first and later change to my 80’s costume.

Not long after, the 80’s music filled the air and the legendary song ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ by Rick Astley started to play. As the music continued pounding the four walls of the room, playing ‘Like A Prayer’ by Madonna, ‘All Night Long’ by Lionel Riche and the likes, my feet were already itching to smash the dance floor, so I hurried to the bathroom to at last change into my 80’s outfit.

Now as the music took us all back to the great era of the 80’s, our euphoria was getting more intense. We had the luxury of creating our own dance floor as we were seated far back from the main stage and not next to another table.

All eyes were on us, mesmerized as we paraded our well thought out and colourful outfits. Some ladies on the other table were amused with our outfits and soon enough joined our group dancing, posing and even crawling whilst taking photos.

Suddenly I thought wow! this is grand! my birthday party is huge; there were about 200 people who attended the party. Then I said, well I guess I could somehow claim they came for my party!
