Happy birthday was indeed a happy birthday

She was giggling and quivering as we sang the happy birthday song and I asked her if she was happy, to which she nodded as she smiled in front of her guests. It was so amusing to see her face actually happy as she blew out the candles on her Peppa Pig cake.

I was battling with whether I would do a big party or not. In fact, even up until the tail end of November I was still unsure what to do for her birthday because I was still working at that time and juggling everything; it was a lot! Ultimately, I ended up doing a big party anyway because well… I never really had a birthday party when I was growing up so to fulfill my frustrations I do it for my little one.

Was it really Lyra who was happy or me? People usually think it is just the mother who wants the party but whilst that is true, I can tell you that Lyra was as happy as me at her party. Last year on her 3rd birthday, I can’t say whether she was happy or not because not only was she sleepy but she was also too young to appreciate it. However, this year I can definitely say Lyra and yes, daddy as well, were happy. I think it is because by now Lyra already knows or understands what her birthday means, in fact she’s been asking me for weeks prior where her birthday is?

This year’s theme was the same as last year – still Peppa Pig. She insists she still wants Peppa Pig, despite me explaining to her that she can have a different theme this time. So here it is, the whole room was filled with Peppa Pig and Daddy and Mummy just repeated their outfit from last year.

Lyra was indeed one happy little girl with all her Peppa favorites; her friends from nursery, from her swimming class, and all of mummy’s friends.

It’s hard to make her smile at this point she was too tired to pose with Nanay and Daddy

Lots of presents to open
