Pretty bad landing

I was starving and a bit dizzy and exhausted from a bad landing by the time I arrived at the waiting area at Heathrow where my husband was waiting for me.

It was wet, cold, and windy which made it more difficult for the pilot to maneuver. We were up in the air again for another 15 minutes after the first try before we were able to land. It was a bumpy ride, scary a bit in fact, the lady next to me was tossing and turning, the 12 year old boy on the other row, the other lady on the next row, and many of the rest of the passengers were either throwing up or dizzy, in fact many were already nauseated when we started to descend.

The overhead bin opened just about when we were going to land. Fortunately, a brave passenger decided to close the bin despite the seatbelt warning to prevent the luggage from falling on to the heads of the passengers. I was on the last seat in the plane and my baby was kicking my belly hard. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t afraid but I had to be calm – I didn’t want to have an early labor on the plane. I just rubbed my belly and tried to sing a few songs.

At last!, we landed. I arrived in the U.K. At immigration while in queue, I was preparing for possible questions. I thought I’d be asked personal questions or just some tricky questions. To my surprise she just asked me if I was there to join my husband. I said yes and that was it. She just told me to pick up my residency card within 10 days, which I was already aware of. Wow, that was quick!

Finally, after a short walk, I saw my husband at the arrival area. I was very happy to see him but I was so hungry. At that moment I felt like I could eat anything, really. However, we still needed to drive two hours to get to Portsmouth.

Whats up with bachelor men? Somehow I always end up starving on my first day after arrival? My first day in Los Angeles was memorable as well. Dada went to work in the morning, and I was starving. I scavenged the fridge but there was nothing except a few apples. I managed to nibble it ’til he arrived in the afternoon and brought me a large burrito. I was already in tears as I grabbed the burrito and ate it like someone who hasn’t eaten for months! I was like, how dare you leave me without food! Boohoo.

Nonetheless, despite the bad landing, the hunger and exhaustion, all my discomfort went away when I saw my husband holding a bouquet of flowers. I was happy to see him. No more traveling, no more thrashing around. I can now rest in my husband’s loving arms.
